How to convert my number into Jio
Reliance Jio has started to convert any operator number into Jio with great plan, Jio is offering to customer “Happy New Year plan” from where customer can enjoy 30 GB monthly 4G internet free (daily capping 1GB). But without any costing this is not bad but due to network congestion Jio internet speed is not good and some calling with Vodafone and Airtel but this will resolve soon. Jio network is not very good and everywhere I think Jio network will be No.1 network in the world. if you want to charge your company I would suggest you to give a chance to Jio, read the below mentioned point carefully to know complete details how to convert mobile number into Jio.
Follow the below process to convert your number into Jio
Step 1: Send the following text message – PORT followed by your 10-digit mobile number to TRAI’s central number for mobile number portability – 1900. Example: Send ‘PORT 98xxxxxx98’ to 1900. You’ll receive an SMS back with a Port out code.
Step 2: Download the Jio App bundle on your Android Smartphone and generate an offer code.
Step 3: Get yourself a Jio SIM. You can walk into any Reliance Digital Xpress and Reliance Digital Xpress mini stores and provide them with and eKYC verification via your Aadhar Card number and get a Jio SIM. Provide the person assisting you with your port out code.
Step 4: Settle any remaining payment of your old telecom provider and seamlessly get your number ported to Reliance Jio.
What is Happy New Year offer?
You can consider it to be Welcome Offer in new clothes and a new name. The new Jio SIMs, the ones sold from December 4, will come with Happy New Year Offer. And all those who get the Jio SIM from that day will be able to enjoy free 4G data, free voice calls and free messages till March 31, 2017.
What about Welcome Offer users?
Although TRAI said Jio can’t offer a free service for more than 90 days, the Welcome Offer will continue till December 31 for the existing Jio users. This means if you have a Jio SIM right now or are planning to get one before December 3 you will come under Welcome Offer. But don’t worry, Reliance Jio has you covered.
As the calendar turns to 2017 all Welcome Offer users will be switched to Happy New Year offer. Jio did something similar with Preview Offer users when it shifted them to Welcome Offer on September 5.
Now, the Happy New Year offer users, earlier under Welcome Offer, will also get free 4G data, free voice calls and free messages till March 31, 2017. Yes, this translates to Welcome Offer users getting free data for almost 7 months! Well, happy new year to you too!
1GB FUP is a good thing. Almost certainly
The current Welcome Offer users are enjoying 4GB data limit right now and will to do so till December 31. This means all Jio users at present can use 4GB data at 4G speed, or whatever you are getting, every day. After the 4GB Fair Usage Policy the speed drops to 128kbps. From January 1, the FUP will be set at 1GB per day, which means 128kbps speed once you have consumed 1GB data in a day.
Now you may ask why would Jio do that, well they have a valid reason. According to Mukesh Ambani, Jio noticed that 20 per cent of its users were using disproportionate amount of data, which then created lower speed issues for the rest 80 per cent of users.
Limit of 1GB should change the internet consumption behaviour of those who have gotten used to 4GB per day, which means the other 80 per cent users, who don’t consume as much data, getting almost an equal chance to use the bandwidth for fast 4G speed.
Since the company has already added more than 50 million users, we can expect the number to rise in the coming days. Thus, the congestion will only increase and we won’t be surprised if the data speed falls too.
How to get more than 1GB data everyday
Reliance Jio has a solution for those users who just don’t want to part with their heavy data usage. The solution, however, costs money.
Reliance Jio has launched two new data top-up vouchers. The Rs 51 plan will give a Jio user 1GB of 4G data with 24 hours validity. This will expire after 24 hours and not at midnight, like most vouchers do. The other plan will cost Rs 301 and gives 6GB of 4G data for 28 days.
However, there is no clarity on how the company will deduct data on this plans. It could mean a user will get to use his free 1GB data once the limit is refreshed at midnight, and keep the paid data for later use.
